Dale has done quite a few and IIRC does it in less than one day.
I installed my own and reckon I could do it in a day now I've fought the good fight.
(but I'm not offering

Everything Tony from MCC says is true. The device works brilliantly, so long as you get the cables right, and it's not brain surgery. The instructions are extremely detailed and the hardware fits precisely. The key point regarding the effective function is to set the "play" at exactly what they say (1 to 2 mm as I recall). I set mine a little bit slacker than that, and while the system worked well, it was a bit sloppy engaging. Once I bit the bullet and dug down into the throttle body again and tightened the link to spec, it got that bug out.
The MCC guys are also great with their telephone support.
Yes, $984 is a big hurdle. But if you're planning on keeping the bike and doing more than half day runs, you'll come to regard it as essential gear. Without the electronic cruise control I'm sure I would have been pinged for speeding more than I have, and I could not have done the trips I have in the time I did. It's right up there with the highway pegs and Airhawk in my survival kit.
