Mines a bit smaller and the wife likes it, but if she sees this, she may think that size really does matter  :rofl

Thanks guys - I have been searching for about 6 months.  I came across this one on the Ulysses classifieds. It is an Elite camper trailer  - elite.com.au . They are worth about $10k new. The guy I got it off got it at the 2006 Tasmania AGM for $11k optioned.

I scored it for $5K. It is one of the rare ones with the nose cone. It has been well looked after. He also had the zip on cover extended so you dont have to pack it up perfectly to be able to zip the cover on. The front awning only goes on for extended stays, otherwise it just folds back over the top of the tent frame. Its fitted with disc brakes and wiring for 35L engel fridge with a plug in the side of the front pod so you can plug into a powered site, and run your appliances - yep fridge :beer

I am going to check the underneath out and snick up the wheel bearings. Then fit in some practise loading it right to get towball weight right. After that I will be out and about getting used to how it makes the bike feel. Yep good times ahead  :thumbs

Fantastic Tony..................that's certainly the best motorcycle camping trailer I've seen :thumbsup.

Just how long does it take to erect, say from start to finish?

You've got a bargain mate............well done!
I doubt you'll have a problem getting your money back if ever you decide to sell it.

I'm just thinkin how nice that would sit behind my bike! :)

Thanks Couch - it took about two minutes to unzip the cover, pull the tent off the side, walk inside & extend the 4 frame bows inside to their full position, unfold the bed platform and throw the matress on top. This is all you need for overnight stays.
It took about two mins to fold it up again.
If you decide to stay a little longer it takes about 20 mins to pull the front awning off the tent roof, insert support bars, add poles and setup pegs to tie it down if needed.

That's great Tony................I once had an "Aussie Swag" off road camping trailer that I towed with my 4x4.............it also only took a couple of minutes to set it up for a short stay and about twenty minutes if I set up the awnings which included a separate enclosed room. My wife and I toured around Tassie with it about sixteen years ago, before we moved down here from Brisbane. The only mistake we made, (if you could call it that) was that we did so in winter.  Minus degrees every night we were here (-5 a couple of nights) with only canvas over us :crazy..........damm, it was cold!   But we loved it so much we now live here! :thumbsup

we did a trip around Tassie back in April. We spent two weeks tripping around the edge with a few ventures inland. Next time it will be on the bike, so we will get to catch up  :)

I just had my mechanic skilled work mate over to check the bearings out on the trailer. They were a bit loose, more so on the right side, so he snicked them up nice & tight. The grease was good and all looks fine. Now just got to get some time and hook it up to the bike for my 1st go at towing a trailer.
I got to go make a concrete slab as we are getting aircon put in the house. Its 72 years old and hasnt had aircon before. The menopausal wife has said no more toys till its in. I said Yes Boss Dearest  :-++
