Motorcycling Music
« on: December 15, 2013, 05:01:44 PM »
Lets have some lists of music that relates to Motorcling, and not necessarily music that you like to ride to.   I will start with the following, all of which are great tracks.....

Ray Charles - Hit the Road Jack
Motorcycle - When the Rush Comes
Manhattan Transfer - Route 66
Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
Willie Nelson - On the Road Again

I've just added  Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone to my list

Vaughn Monroe - Terror of Highway 101 (1955)   :OldMan

Google it if you'd like to hear it, it will come up on Utube, it was a favourite of mine when I was fifteen. :grin

Surely the best music is the purr, hum and whine of a Japanese v4.

Hungry Heart by Bruce Springsteen

Got a wife and kids in Baltimore, Jack,
Went out for a ride and I never went back,
Like a river that don’t know where it’s flowing,
I took a wrong turn and I just kept going.

Must've been riding a motorbike, just kept going ...

And Hotel California by the Eagles

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air

Ahh Stone. Back in the days when bikies rode real motorbikes that had power, brakes and handling, not yankie tractors.

If that's an Aussie movie then the riders are overdressed - most riders I see around here in tropical QLD are just wearing thongs, shots, a tee-shirt and a helmet, no gloves.

Handling?  Brakes?   Perhaps you've forgotten that the frames of bikes of that era were made from spaghetti and brakes simply gave you a chance to wash off a bit of speed.
