ST1100 VIN
« on: December 15, 2013, 10:26:05 PM »
Hi Guys,
While ordering parts for my 1990 St1100 I noticed the VIN ended with 0000001,could this be the first ST1100 of the production line from japan? Honda(rockingham WA) couldn't confirm but said it was possible because the US/Europe didn't gt the ST until 1991.
Can anyone shed any light?
Regards,

 Bruce.

Europe had St in 90, US not until 91, according to what I have Aust VIN started at SC26U*LM000002 for 90 model, Canada had SC262*LM000001.
According to StRay a couple of Canadian ST's were put on the wrong ship and ended up here, he had one.

So at what age does this "old enough to know better" kick in?

Go to the following site and enter your VIN in the search window and the details of your bike should come up.

https://www.cmsnl.com/honda_model8286/

As for ST1100 availability.........

The US didn't get the 1100 until 1991 but 1990 for Europe and the rest of the world that it was sold in did.

Info from paint codes and which colours went where and in which year and on what model ....  http://www.st-1100.com/st1100-colour-codes.html

In that case double check the VIN number on the compliance plate and the VIN number stamped on the head stem and your rego details

The plate should look like this and the stamped number should below it (left in picture)

Looks like you might have an odd one.......numbers for 1990 start at 2 not one.........

Does your engine number fall within the range given?

Engine no SC2EE2000102
Very interesting if it is the first from japan line, what are the chances!
I wonder if it makes it any more valuable?
