Broken Mirror, Cover and Indicator
« on: December 21, 2013, 10:54:13 PM »

Took the missus out tonight for a bit of christmas light spotting and some bloody fool let the bike fall on her... :well :||||.

Well that's what i'm saying happened anyway.

Apart from the initial shock... No damaged done to her at all thank christ.

But if you have or know where there is a complete spare rhs indicator, cover and mirror that would be great. (in white trim please)

If you need me I'll just be sulking in the shed next to my battered pride.

Unfortunately, I failed at a left turn up a steep incline with my wife on the back. Fortunately, she knew to step off the bike and step away but due to the stepth (new word for steepness!!) the bike went over past it's tip-over bars and took off the left mirror cover. It has been cracked but still is in one piece and still strong so I barely notice the crack and black permanent marker removes a small chip. One day I will replace it with new. David Silver spares sells them.

I have a spare left side one, so no good.  If you need an assembly to get you by until you can get one let me know as I happen to have a complete spare bike sitting around for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the offer Saaz but lets keep old faithful in one piece for now.

So i got a little creative today and I have resurrected the jigsaw puzzle that was left lying on the ground after the bike fell.

A bit of patience and half a roll of celo tape and it doesn't look half bad.

Now to wait for the xmas silly season to pass and then order the replacement bits....

About the only bit of white plastic I don't have lying in my shed.

I laid the ST1100P down on gravel at a servo, and ordered a RHS cover.  Ordered the non-P one by mistake, then ordered the P one, so have a non-P RHS cover if anyone wants it - just cover the freight.

Hi steve, are you talking about an engine cover or a mirror cover?

Hobs, sent you a PM.  I have a wing cover, the grey wing down low on the side.

P/N 64260-MAJ-G00ZA

I see what I have is described on the moulding as Engine Guard Cover.  On reading the thread again I see the damage done was all up top, mirror, mirror cover and indicator.  sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the quick reply Steve. Didn't realise that there was two sizes. Have ordered them before through my local bike shop and only told them the year of the bike and got back the right part, so thought it was standard on all bikes.

Cheers,
Hobs

Yeah, the straight ST1100 Engine guard cover is smaller and has a slot underneath it.  The ST1100P Engine guard cover is larger and has no slot.
