Streak Last Bike trip for 2013
« on: December 31, 2013, 02:34:24 PM »
Well i had to squeeze in one last trip about for 2013

After a very badly done selfie, i Headed South with no real roads in mind, just looking to find back roads the best i could

So I turned off for Wyreema, and saw this old ute head down a skinny road of tar, and i thought he looks like he knows where he is going.....apart from the lack of two lanes the riding was quite a bit of fun, i waved at the old bloke in the ute ( am sure thought i was nuts) as i overtook him, and i Popped up in the town of Nobby, which was a surprise seeing i have never really been this way at all.

Passed through Clifton, and headed for pittsworth, even found an old church at back plains, had me wondering 50 years ago this would have been in perfect condition and a really active spot

I was just putting my gloves on to get going again, and down this back stretch of road comes a fellow on a pedal trike, i got a big wave as he went past!

Then it was a trip into Pittsworth and for one of Jades Places fantastic burgers

Check this thing out!

So all in all spent a couple of hours covering 130km, found some good roads i didint know about, and well, i think i will be doing some more exploering down that way in the future

Here is a map link to where i went: http://goo.gl/maps/ZLXkm

And of course a picture of the map  :thumb

I hope everyone gets a chance to get out today! if not have a great day!

I did mine yeaterday.
It was one of a number of quests for a FarRider's competition.

Up at 4:00 to fit it into a busy day.  That's DST on the time stamp.

This was the sole reason for the 360 km ride

Might take Ruby to see the fireworks tonight, if it's not raining.  Otherwise we'll watch it on TV like a pair of sugar-babies.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Have to make time to try that out, I really need to base myself somewhere and just go riding around.

I went on a little ride yesterday with Stroppy and his nephew to Adaminaby, where I turned back as they kept on going Victoria way.  It was 350kms or so all up.

Biggles, I would go back and get another photograph, with the rally flag being a bit more recognisable.  You may loose some points for that one  >:()

I also scoped out rudds pub, think it could be good for an unplanned RTE at some stage...

Saaz I do a lot of that sort of riding as with the kids and work I don't get a lot of free time, my brother in law taught me the "follow that car" trick, I have found all sorts of quirky and interesting places riding like that....

Mind you I do try to plan it so a good burger or coffee tops it off....

After 2013, the year of lost weight, we head into 2014 with a 1 kg hamburger...     :EatCake

I can also recommend O'Shanley's Irish pub at Clifton, we often run up from Gatton on the Gatton-Clifton road and then back to Ipswich via Cunningham gap. :wht11 :wht11 :wht11 :wht11
