I couldn't answer the skid one.....

A few were irrelevant in regards to actually being safe while (phone numbers, washing etc) on the road.

As for "I find my ST"........ 1.5 seems to fit.  At 140 kph I'm quite confident and the bike is sure footed but at city speeds I won't filter with it as the bike seems to wide. Not so much an issue now but was when I first got it or when I now ride to the city.

Actually washing your bike is a safety exercise as well. Potential issues may be noticed as you go over the bike.
As to carrying phone numbers - it may not be you that needs them.
As the scouts say......

I don't understand why I should lose a point because I choose not to wear my leathers and instead wear other protective motorcycle clothing.
How can you place more importance in the  answers to the last question.  At first glance the answers 1 and 2 should each score the same but then it becomes the old chestnut of statistics.   For those of you who have or still do attend motor vehicle "collisions" how many do you attend that involve cars, cars and trucks, or trucks compared to collisions that involve motorcycles also.
The vast majority of collisions involve cars or trucks in some combination so if the smallest category of collision involves motorcycles are we not safer on our ST's.

As a former Paramedic I don't believe the question is about the number of accidents it's more to do with the fact that motorcyclists fall into a greater risk category due to the lack of a steel cage around them with seat belts, airbags, crumple zones, etc. Motorcyclists rarely win in an accident.

Why on earth would I own a set of leathers??????  They grow mould in the wet season then go crunchy in the dry!  Not to mention the fact that I'd die of heat stroke just going to work.

I own two motorcycle jackets (one white, one black) and 2 pr of kevlar jeans though.  Never ride without a jacket, but often wear just denim jeans round town.  Even without owning leathers I score 36/40

37/40 :grin
Lost 2 for not having leathers :'( but I do use a textile jacket and Kevlar jeans at all times (along with boots and leather gloves) :thumbsup
And the other 1 point was from not always having a HiVis Vest kept with the bike.

I'm only a 36er, because I haven't read the Road Laws for over a year and I have one pannier half full of useful stuff all the time with the other one empty most of the time.
There possibly won't be any STOCers with 40, since full leathers are a bit of an over-dressed look for city riding on a tourer, especially today at high 30 degree temps.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
