  If a set where available at the time it would have saved me 2 months of looking for a second hand set to have modified when we went to the RDL, who knows who may be in the same boat now.....

Yep that was Wombattle who is now cursing me  that I didn't think off selling them a few weeks ago.....he bought a new pillion seat I believe for his project....

I actually have a OEM seat set that is not on the bike, but I'm not prepared to sell it yet.   I'm still evaluating a new Sargent seat.

Has anybody got an aftermarket seat that you can sit on all day or are they ALL 'just that LITTLE bit better'?
I would spend the 'hard earned' on something that is MUCH better but not on something that is only marginally better.
I'm still waiting for the feedback on that French made one. 
Not sure who owns it now.

I guess seats are like ice cream, everyone likes a different flavour, but cannot speak highly enough about the Russell day long seats. Have done a full tank of fuel a couple of times now without getting off in between (how ever far that is) think we were on the bike for about 5 hours each time.  The original seat had us at about 2 hrs then ever hour after that we needed off for 10 minutes, we added a little more time with airhawks and sheepskin covering.

I'm hearing you Marcus. It becomes an expensive exercise if you buy an aftermarket one and you don't find it much better.
Pockey. 5 hours is a good test. Just sitting on one won't let you know what it will be like after 2 hours. I'm sure we all thought the OEM was comfortable when we first sat on it and did the test ride. Fortunately for me, being a FarRider or IBA member is not on my to do list. I would however just like to enjoy a day's ride without getting a sore behind.
