Evening all, I am after an opinion or two, what would my ST1100 be worth? I am considering purchasing an ST1300 as one has come up I am interested in.

Bike stats:

1996 ST1100
Black
93,000km
Top box with luggage rack
Dash shelf with three ram mounts built into it
12V point in left pie warmer
Custom seat (very comfy for both pillion and rider)
Delkavic slip on exhausts
Ikon rear shock
HID Driving lights
LED flood lights
Police light brackets
Custom tinted screen.
Bagster tank cover
OzSTOC number plate frame
Always serviced correctly and at the proper times, all work that has been needed to be done always has been.
Comes with original keys and manual

Outside of that it has always been parked in the shed bike cover on when not being used, it has always been washed and cleaned.

So what do you think she would be worth?

Streak,
people are maybe wary of mentioning prices as some may offend, but i'd start off by saying maybe around $5.5k to $6k, but remember its a buyers market with a lot of bargains to be had, so if your looking for a quick sale, you may need to accept a lower amount.

from the reading and looking around i have done, i was leaning towards the $5,500-6,000 mark, as mine has had everything done to it, get on it and ride, plus the extras it makes a pretty appealing bike (mind you that is in my eyes)

I'd say $4,000 - $5,000 should sell fairly quickly.
But you could go higher... $6,000 is a reasonable possibility.

It all depends on how quick you want to sell.

Being a little harsh here, but unfortunately, the extras dont add value to the bike in the eyes of the buyer. The average buyer, bike shop sees an older bike with a top box and other stuff they may not want/need.

A price of $5.5-6 K would be about market level.

My brother in law is facing a similar problem with his heavily modified Jeep, he has put around $40K in extras on it, to me its a second hand Jeep

You will never recoup the money you have spent on the bike, and sellers that ask silly prices will never sell them, be fair in what you ask for and remember that if your price is a bit high you can always come down a bit.

I Agree with you both, i think $5,900 starting price is a good place to start.

Redbook value is $4900 to $5800 for a private sale. I would reckon on the middle of that range.

Brock has hit the nail on the head in reference to adding accessories.
Sometimes the accessories can reduce the number of potential buyers because they might not suit individual tastes. Some people prefer unmodified bikes (unless the accessories have been professionally fitted, they're assuming that the bike and accessories will be reliable). I paid $5000 for my 98 3 years ago with 45000k's on the clock and one owner. I still think that I would get my money back. Personally, I think a good aftermarket seat (and and aftermarket windscreen) would add value because it wouldn't have any effect on the reliability but would be likely to improve looks and comfort of the bike. With the accessories on my bike: when I have installed them I always consider if the accessories can be removed without leaving evidence of their being ever fitted, or if they have no negative aspects of them being fitted (like the fairing wind deflectors.. they have no effect on the bikes integrity, and if removed leave little to no scars).
Having said all that.. going by average prices on eBay/Gumtree I reckon around the $5000 mark (accessories not considered). Remember that you can always drop prices and take offers, but not negotiate the price up!

I think you'll be waiting for a while at $5900.  Fine if you're not in a hurry.
Just remember, every three months you have to get a new RWC ($50+), every 6 months new rego ($300+) as well as the inevitable deterioration to battery etc from sitting ignored while you go having fun with the new love.
I'm in the $5000 court, after moving from $6500 to $5500 five years ago during 6 months on the market for a similar bike (admittedly with fewer farkles).
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

I think all the comments make sense. Reason why my ST1100 is sitting under a cover in the carport as it is worth more to me than mere money.

Throw Teela into the deal, maybe $30,000 or so :)
