Hello John,

Yep, it's mine.  I just bought a Yamaha Super Tenere so I don't have a need for the DL anymore.  I bought the DL as a cheap way of giving adventure style bikes a go.  I got hooked and just wanted something more refined.

The DL is a good reliable machine but they're very basic.  The DL would feel like something from Fred Flinstone's era compared to that big comfy Trophy of yours mate.

Cheers,

Tony

So, what do you think of the STEN?

It impresses me the more I ride it.  Engine is surprisingly smooth with heaps of torque, I thought it would be more vibey for a big parallel twin.  Handles very well on road, brakes are excellent and the suspension is better than I imagined, albeit it a bit on the soft side.  The weather protection is also good, it protects my lower half as well as an FJR.   Annoyingly, the seat is a shocker, the foam is too soft with a dramatic slope toward the tank causing a burning butt within 30 mins of riding!  Heading down to Mick McCarthy's, MJM seats at Goulburn mid June to get that fixed.  Handlebars are too wide for me so that's on the fix it list as well.  Otherwise, I'm happy with the bike but I really haven't had enough time on it to give a detailed review.

Cheers,

Tony

Thanks for that.  It's quite popular among the FarRiders- I don't know what mods they've done, but the bike is obviously a winner.
