Honda F6B - Do it's owners belong on here
« on: July 24, 2014, 04:18:24 PM »
I just feel the philosophy behind the design brief of the F6B must've been something like the original design briefs for the ST1100 and the ST1300.  I see it as a Sports Tourer rather than a stripped full tourer.

The F6B is probably closer to the ST's than anything else.  Guessing that the ST1300 doesn't have much longer, what is it 12 years old, then don't F6B owners deserve a spot in here.

 :think1
We could always refer to it as the ST1800 ...
At my age you realise something very important, then ten minutes later you've forgotten it.

As a"youn un" here, I'd be happy with the addition of the F6B.  I'd happily choose it as my upgrade to the ST..

Honda F6B owners have their own quite active forum at the following:
http://hondaf6b.com/forum.php

Personally, I see the F6B as a Heavy Cruiser with touring options,  and not as a  Tourer or Sports Tourer.

Hi Old Steve

I believe the only requirement to be a part of the forum is that the person has an appreciation of the AWESOME Honda ST :grin

So if you or anyone gets a F6B they are quite welcome to be a part of the forum (although the info here is aimed at the ST) :thumbsup

I'm sure some of the mods will be along soon to clarify this further :thumbs

Nah.  It's too ugly.
They've got their own forum, or they could become wannabee Goldwingers.

Yep.
Three have got the same engine.
Four are the best colour.
Four have got the same headlight/front cowl.
Some are plug ugly.

I could write a short essay about Club Membership, but suffice it to say it's a Honda ST Forum populated by true believers who are here because of their choice of motorcycle.

Holey moley!  The thing is 10 months old with 6 thou on the clock, and it's dropped $8000, disregarding the extras he's added, including rim insurance.
Can't be much demand for them.     :o

Imagine how cheap a black one would be if that's all you can ask for a red one!!!

Gas strut would most likely be stronger than the pissant crimped nylon cord that busted the first month.  The Honda dealer reckoned it wouldn't survive a warranty claim.  Not that I was serious, just wanted to make a point that this wasn't good enough on a $25K bike.

There might be a case made for those getting a Goldwing,- at least it isn't an ugly wannabe cruiser.     :think1

Take your top box off the ST13 and you've basically got yourself a 'bagger ' i love 'em and would relish a ride on one someday.

I just rode an F6B for 3 weeks through California and Nevada in the US and fell in love with the bike. Effortless power, and comfortable , there were a few draw backs, small storage capacity for such a big bike and a windscreen that was not adjustable electronically.
I have to say I still like the look of the Gold Wing and the extras you get with it, but totally enjoyed the F6B

I'm surprised it didn't have it before as it's a standard 'wing feature.......the same as the electric centre stand on the 1800

I'm not where I read that. It's quite possible I misread something related to this on another site. It can be inferred that by using "retro-fit" that the person was designing something for an earlier model that was a newer model. http://gl1800riders.com/forums/showthread.php?252618-Electric-center-stand-development
