Newbie to ST's and Forums (It's probably obvious)
« on: July 28, 2014, 12:19:28 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am RTG. I have a 1996 Black ST1100 (which I acquired from Streak!) I also have a 1980 Honda CX500 Custom. (I haven't owned a car since 1993) I tend to time share between the two bikes and am happiest when riding. Rain, (don't get too much of that in Townsville) hail (never get any of that) or shine. (truck loads of that) I'm usually riding, at work or at home deciding to go for a ride.

I love Hondas and have always loved Hondas. My first bike was a restored 1968 Honda CB125 on which I learned to ride (and fall) I then graduated to a restored 1978 Honda CB360. Both salvaged from the local tip and took me about a year each to restore. Of course that was a few decades ago.

Professionally, I work for the local City Council. (means to an end.............money for bike and stomach fuel!)

I do my own repairs and maintenance (don't panic, I'm qualified)

I got to meet some of you at the Rockhampton ride a couple of months ago. I heard some interesting stories and discuss bikes with other people who like bikes. I would have signed on the forum sooner, but I've been out riding.

Hope to meet more of you in the future. Take care and stay upright.

You're our kinda guy, RTG.
Welcome to the Forum now you've taken a few minutes off the Honda to check in.
You'll be riding the ST down to Toowoomba for the Annual Run early next year, I'd be thinking.  See you there.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
