Really not a bad price for what they say they all do

Down side is only 9 hours battery life

I agree, the price isn't that bad (unless you are buying 1 of the 2 prototypes [$25,000])

However more importantly - is it going to protect my head in a crash, both internally and externally.

"See this son, this is where a HUD went through my (R) retina at 100 kph......."
