Mild soapy water - Cleaning products are a No - No!
As to fogging, it really is helmet dependent however apart from maintain a small crack open when riding, fit a pinlock internal visor.

Apparently CAT CRAP is the way to go re the fogging, however i have never used it myself. I just open the visor a bit.

1.  Warm water with detergent, and cover with a wet cloth to soften the big bugs.   Finish with a bit of Mr Sheen when the visor is dry.

2.  Crack the visor a bit.   I've heard of wiping the inside of the visor with potato, CatCrap, soap etc,  none of which work very well, and air-flow is the answer.

There are commercial sprays for cleaning, but they're basically expensive soapy water.
JuSTPete used to have a product.  He might still have some if you PM him.
Mr Sheen can actually be used by itself if it's not to heavily bug spattered.
I have a pinlock anti-fog insert and it really works, but reduces the transmitted light by about 10%, so isn't ideal.  Better in daylight than dark for that reason.

I use Plexus. A plastic cleaner, Protectant & Polisher that was developed for use in Aviation
I find it very good for screens, visors and can be used on the whole bike  :thumbsup

For anti fog I wipe the inside of visor with a small amount of dish washing detergent on a cloth and keep wiping until clear, had no problems on the border run with temps into minus.

your private, independent optometrist (NOT OPSM, Specsavers etc...) will be able to order a tiny bottle of anti fog liquid.
It is made by "Essilor" France and surprisingly it is called "OPTIFOG" activator i believe it is around $14.00

1-2 drops applied to both surfaces and a gentle buff. I have used this in the past on spectacles and helmet visors.
it works, but I think a pinlock device would still be best.

What is the composition of Optifog Activator? Water, Fluoroalkyl Alcohol Substituted Polyethylene Glycol, Isopropyl Alcohol, Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether. - See more at: http://www.essilor.com.au/products-brands/optifog-lenses/optifog-faq/#howtouse

+1 for Plexus for the outside of the visor, and +1 for catcrap for the inside! If you can't get Plexus, there are other plastic polishes out there that are similar,

Not a fan of Plexus I'm afraid. I have no concrete evidence, however I did use in all over on my last helmet and it seemed to react with the plastic not the visor. The paint started peeling off however I had used it on the helmet for three years by then.

Mr Sheen should really be a nono ...
If you spray some onto some cardboard and sniff , you will smell the kerosene, should not even be use as a furniture polish

Plexus for me, I use it on my visor and windscreen, and I also use it on my helmets and occasionally on the tupperware of the bike, without any adverse effects. If I have a lot of bug strikes though I wipe them off first with a soft wet cloth.  The only downside to Plexus is that it's expensive. As far as fogging up.....I don't have a problem at all as I like to keep my visor slightly open even if it's cold, I just close the rear vents on my helmet so as there's no flow through. :grin

When I purchased my windscreen from Screens for Bikes in Melbourne, Peter recommended Mr Sheen.  I use it on both my windscreen and visor.  So far it works a treat.
It does have a scent but I am not sure its kero.

Besides, when you walk up to friends wearing your stinky helmet, they will tell you to "Bark off!" :grin .... or words to that effect...
