Weekend to Pumphrey's Bridge
« on: September 07, 2014, 06:26:28 PM »
A friend of ours is a mad keen motorbike camper. He has been trying to organise a ride for a while to show off all of his camping gear (small size practical things for camping).
So we made a date to head to Pumphrey's Bridge this weekend.
Weather forecast was not good but all other weekends in September for me were full so we bit the bullet and headed off.
We had to wait for Kiera to finish work so we were unable to leave until about 2:30pm
Ben met at our place and off we went to pickup Jack (the mad camper) and Deb along the way.
Caught up with Jack in Gosnells and headed on down.

Pumphrey's Bridge is about 160km South East of us and is a nice bit or road once you are off the highway (Wandering Pumphrey Road).

We arrived around 4:30 in light drizzle to find there is a great big bike garage there already for us to use ....   :thumbs :thumbs
Parked the bikes up and proceeded to unload.

Setup tents and swags under cover as there was another section under cover as well.
We had to do some creative roping but got there in the end...

Not a lot to do there so we went for a walk and made an early dinner. Jack has a little projector on his phone so we set up a sheet over a wall and watched (on Jacks recommendation) Blazing Saddles .....  :||||
Had an early night and slept well.
This morning we got up and after being presented with some great Father's Day chockies started to pack up to head home again (Dinner with inlaws tonight)

Above From Left: Trina (Wife), Kiera (Daughter), Jack, Deb, and Ben.

Stopped for a photo on the way back as I could not resist ....

Begs the questions of "Where did it start?" and "Where will it finish ????"

Anyway, 320km odd round trip with a great night out with a good group of friends.
This is Why We Ride ......... :beer

Great place names you've got over there.
The evaporative air con on the pub roof suggests it might get warm and dry in summer, and the double chimney on the house might mean some winters get cool.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
