Water beading on windscreen
« on: September 22, 2014, 01:57:38 PM »
Winston66, Northampton.
This last weekend was quite an eye opener for me, Literally.
Ok. the story goes;
Went to the RTE at Jurien Bay last weekend and the weather turned quiet wet and nasy for the ride home.
The Steed has been fitted with a new V stream windshield and does not have the electric adjust, as a consequence I have to look through the screen , I am not able to look over it. ( I like the comfort ,it is great).
Now because it never rains here in WA. (joke) I have not ridden in the rain for many years, (never had to).
Last weekend I got caught in quite a sever storm front , (wind and rain) and at one stage could not see anything through either the screen, and or the helmet visor, a difficult and dangerous, situation.
Does anyone treat their screen & etc with something that stops the rainwater from beading and then just sitting there,and comprising their vision.
I would like to hear your suggestions.
Cheers Winston66, Northampton

I use Mr Sheen Furniture Polish on my windshield.
It works well and just makes the rain just bead straight off.

Very handy :thumbsup

Just Pete had some excellent stuff for this exact situation. I use it and am a great fan. Don't know its name though. Pete?

Rainx perhaps???

Works well on the car, not sure what effect it would have on the screen integrity, but it would caused the water to stream off
