I had one on the old Bol Dor for 5 years or so...but someone broke it while in a car park. Very easy to adapt to using it.
I used a throttle lock for a few months, but didn't like the idea, same as cruise control, am not keen on them, either.

The palm rests are good but i now use go cruise
Its one finger operation roll off or on to disengage and its ready for next time great on the highway as you can let go the bar about 20 bucks on ebay takes one ride to get used to and works well on all bikes

Just looked at the go cruise .... that looks like a good thing for long distance rides.  I like the palm thingy above for the assistance on shorter rides.

I use both. They help is slightly different ways, so having both makes the right wrist more comfortable for me. If I need to scratch things or move my wrist around, I use the go cruise, otherwise rest the fingers with the palm rest. They don't interfere with each other.

Go cruise looks interesting, I've been looking at Kaoko friction lock but this looks a much cheaper option.
A lot like the old cable tie.

I have both the narrow Cramp Buster (always on the bike), and the Go-Cruise (only used for the Perth-Adelaide run for Middleton). Both worth every little penny they cost.

However, I did note the Go-Cruise wouldn't hold the speed. It always wound down slowly - not as fast as just releasing the throttle, but it did nonetheless. Regardless - still useful on long rides.

Apparently you need to use a nother couple eleastic bands or something to create more resitance.

I also note that there is another style that has a screw down feature that increases the grip resistance......50 bucks instead of 20 but......

Will definitly give the 20 buck one a shot I think.

A mate bought one of the screw on types, and whilst it does hold the throttle slightly better, he only uses it for a couple of seconds at most anyway, so if you only want to use it for a few secs, then you could save $30. Having said that, I snapped my first go-cruise when removing it from tapered BMW grips. It went on simply, but snapped coming off. Not saying they are crap, but you need to take care when removing them. I have them on Oxford heated grips now, and no problems taking it off, not that you need to.

Perhaps a 20mm wide slice from a bicycle tube, slipped over the grip,  will do the job.

I will have ample time to test it out on my bris Trip from Townsville in December.

How does it work? 

The go-cruise works like a clothes peg in that it grips the handgrip under tension, whereas the one with a screw can be tightened so it wouldn't slip at all.

The go-cruise lever rests on the front brake lever, which is what holds the twist grip in position.  Twist the throtte where you want it, and then push the go-cruise around with your finger until it's resting on the brake lever.  Friction between the go-cruise device and the twist grip rubber, while it's resting on the brake lever,  is what holds the throttle in position.

Ah yeah, what Stinky Pete said. Of course they both need to slip to dis-engage, but the one with the screw has adjustable slip. Does that make sense?
