I posted on here a few weeks ago seeking what you thought my bike was worth as I was considering selling due to a workplace injury. Well.....Here it is.

Honda ST1300 2002 model. Red in colour with only 20,000 klms on it (Yes I know it is not even run in). It is in immaculate condition and comes with the following : Digital gear position indicator and digital volt guage which are both mounted in with the tell tale lights. Brakeaway throttle lock, led indicator tell tales mounted in the mirrors, custom back rest, 1 inch handlebar risers and upgraded headlight globes. Tyres are Bridgestone Battlax with about 75% tread remaining and has recently had new Platinum Spark plugs installed. It is in immaculate condition and will pass any test. Vic reg until 25/3/2015 and will come with a RWC if sold in Vic or I am happy to assist wherever I can to freight interstate. Low mileage and full of farkles makes for an excellent buy. Very reluctant sale but after 4 rounds of shoulder surgery, it is just too much of a handful for me now so I am hoping that someone here will get years of pleasure from it as I have had.  Please pm me any messages or alternatively you can call me on 0419 446566. Asking $9950 ONO. Other photos available on request.

I have just put a price on the original post. Biggles, I am still laughing at your comment. Took me a minute or two to work it out. I would dearly love this to sell quickly but I am also not prepared to give it away. Still tugging on my heart strings doing this. Thanks.

Would you accept a later model (2009, also perfect red) as a clean swap?  You get a newer bike with more experience.
I get a nicely farkled bike to show around the country a bit, as it's obviously been starved of outings.

Well, if Esstee won't accept that offer, I'll make you a counter offer of a 2004 blue ST13 with very few farkles for your "inferior" albeit experienced red, Bill.  :grin :grin

Seems like no one has any money to spare these days.
You've got bikebugger trying to sell a beautiful red ST13 for $4700 and can't get any takers and here's your charmer being studiously ignored.  Seems every sensible bike rider has already got their ST and the rest of the fraternity are happy to stick with their inferior machines.  And we just don't need a spare ST in the shed because one does the job reliably.  If mine gets pinched I'll come begging to buy yours!     :thumbs

No begging required Biggles. I will gladly sell it to you. Perhaps you think about an upgrade to a low klm ST while the opportunity is there ;-*

Hey Biggles. I am yet to put it on Bikesales. I have had bikes on there over the years with not much luck. I have it on Gumtree and only had scammers giving me the S@#ts. Looks like I might have to whack it on Bikesales to see how it goes.

Good luck with the sale. It seems many people are having trouble moving their bikes. For my part, I was in the market to buy a few months ago, and there just wasn't much around. Timing can be a big factor. I think the key is to not be in a rush, and get the news out as far as possible, and if the product is good and the price is right, buyers will come.

My attitude is that if somebody is looking to buy an item, be it a motorcycle, car, caravan etc, that they will look at all available sales sources, Gumtree, Ebay, Bike Sales etc.
I recently sold a caravan which was advertised on Caravan and Camping Sales and Gumtree, eventually It was sold from Gumtree. I'm not sure at the end of the day if the $90.00 I paid for the add on Caravan and Camping sales was justified, although I did get a reasonable amount of response from the add.

As for my Honda ST1300, that has been For Sale now for many months, it is only listed on this forum and Gumtree. In the time that it has been For Sale I had one offer which was well below my minimum price and one phone call last week about it .

The guy that made the offer by email hadn't even looked at the bike, while I believe the offer was genuine it was obviously from somebody who was just bargain hunting. I guess if you make ridiculously low offers for an item often enough, eventually you may find somebody desperate enough to accept.

As for the phone call last week, the guy said he would try and get down in the next week or so to look at the bike. I'm not holding my breath waiting for him to show up.

My opinion is that the market is very difficult at the moment, nothing seems to be selling. People just don't have the money or they are reluctant to spend it or borrow it.

OK everyone. I have reduced the price just a little bit and have now listed it on Bikesales to see how it goes. Link is below:                            http://www.bikesales.com.au/private/SSE-AD-3136592/2002-Honda-ST1300
