met with the local chapter of the Ulyssess old farts club and went for a mornings ride.
We left Townsville at 10 ish (old fart adjusted time) and headed out for a ride to a place called Grouper Creek which is 20 minutes south of Home Hill .... which is 1h20 south of Townsville.
Quite uneventful ride out apart fromt eh traffic snarl due to tin top having a single vehicle accident -- read: roll over on straight road--. The car was pretty messed up and how this person could have rolled it on such a straight bit of road ill never know .

.... must have been on the phone me thinks.
Went throguh the canefeilsd from the sandy corner turn off and missed the dull traffic of Brandon and Ayr and made nice time to Home Hill ..... even if the bugger on the BMW couldnt get his bike up to 100kph .... ever! I think the Beemers are the volvo's opf the bike world. lol.

Wish I could post photos from my samsung Tablet but cant.
The place obviously floods and floods BIG.
All the houses there are HIGH qlders and have ramps to drive the cars up on to the decks. Even the public phone box is 12 - 15 ft in the air with a moring line!
I decided to jump in front of the Beemer on the way home as I did not wish to be stuck bhind him again.
We stopped in Home Hill for a bite to eat and who should pop into the cafe but Rhino. Was great meeting a fellow Ozstocer for the first time. was also nice to be 1 of three Hondas on the ride. All those cruisers with out screens looked might uncomfortable on the trip home in the blustery head/cross wind.
Was a fine day and not bad for my first semi organised ride with other people.
