Any good ideas out there on how to stop cables that go from your bike to your helmet from flapping about in the breeze?

Run the cable though the inside of your jacket...

Silastic, it glues anything...

I don't know what you call them. Those small 'alligator' clips, with the plastic strip attached, that is used for attaching Identification or building access cards to clothing are good for that.

We use them for exactly that reason. The 'umbilical' cord from the bike radio to the helmet. I only use one. I have it clipped to the collar of my jacket and let the rest hang. Some of the guys use 2, one up the top like mine and another lower down, more-or-less at the bottom of their jackets.

Works well, you can leave your jacket on, unplug from the bike and take the helmet off, and walk away with the cord attached to you.

I use a blue tooth set up, no messy cable to forget about and hang your self with.

The cable that goes from the bike to my helmet is a rather heavy duty Autocom one, so flapping is not an issue. If you can secure the cable end to the helmet somehow you could try putting a flexible sheaf around the cable to stop it moving around so much. The pressure area on mine is securing the cable going into the helmet.

Everything is better with bluetooth, I was there watching the cables flap in the breeze, thinking that the music sounds fantastic in my bluetooth helmet right now....

Yep, everything is better with Blue tooth, including the swearing when the whole thing falls off at a million miles an hour..

Bluetooth Sena I got one and 10 out 10 so far and just ordered the UHF Bluetooth unit today so all set now for the long rides

this is where i bought mine dual set of the Sena SMH10, Worked a real treat, ran mine on the days of Nambucca heads for 7 hours day 1, nearly 8 hours day 2, and day 3 8 hours, and worked without fail, no ear plugs, quality music (running the whole time i had it turned on), phone calls, the odd text message (sitting at road works)

charged it eveery evening, but its specs tell me it will run up to 12 hours

The phone calls from Streak sounded like he was not on a bike, so pretty good. I order some wine from the Wine Society while going along, keeps the boredom at bay :)

I have an older unit (BT interphone) on my Helmet which I bought of Ebay, cost me $120 delivered for 2 units. I have one my son has one (passenger) and I bought another double unit for my wife who is learning, fantastic we love them we can talk to each other and listen to music from my Ipod all through Blue tooth.

why people spend thousands of dollars is a mystery to me (sorry Dale) when these cheap units seem to do the job, mind you I have not tried to hook up a GPS as well yet, so I am not sure of their limitations as far as amounts of connectables. so far so good.

I have a cheapish Ebay BT unit, and its crap. get above 80ks and you cant hear anything. Dont know what the speaking is like, havent been able to use it...

Well as yet I dont know how good or not they will be.. Revzilla did not have the white moovit sharke helmet in stock so I ordered the blue tooth unit for it and and a pair of Sidi racing boots from them and helmet from fcmoto.de (343 AU $) also 1 set of pr3's from jake wilson .

I did this yesterday and had emails this morning saying that all have been shipped...

now it will a nervous but exciting wait for all to arrive.

No mate finally got around to finally filing a tax return after 20 yrs (could only do 4 yrs) and got $5.400 back.

Brock mine are fine up to 110, personally tested, between 110 and 160 they do get very noisy.

hey tipsy. i have sharktooth and seems to work fine as intercom, gps-music and not fully tested but sena sr10 with uhf radio. used autocom for many years but wife always hooksup leads as she gets on and off, conection problem with ear peiceing cracks when she connects and NO external volume control
also i am working on a chargeing system from bike (will be wired to bike but only for a relatively short time)

My Ronda has been converted for solo riding happy to say.

Had a girlfriend may years ago who wanted to be a pillion rider and after 300 meters & 3 corners I pulled up and made her get off and walk the final 500 meters (6 more corners) otherwise we would both have been limping down the road, without the bike.
So I am quite happy to be alone on my machine.
I will find out what the blue tooth units are like when it arrives

I use the volume control on the Earmolds to get the volume just right. Once you adjust the input volumes on various devices no problems.

Saaz the BT units use speakers that velcro to the inside of the helmet, the only problem I had with this set up is getting them placed just right so as to not interfear with the things on the side of your head, my first trip was extremely painfull.

ear plugs won't work for that reason.
