4pm Thurs 19th: Get home from work after hearing all day that TC Marcia is heading to Gladstone... 5pm: It's 150km east & tracking straight for us. Category 4 (that'll be adios shed then). Cyclone prep in full swing. Bikes, car, spare fuel, food, water, etc down in the garage, surrounded by concrete walls & hardwood floor above (we'll ride it out here)... 7pm: 100km east & still coming straight at us but almost stationary, some strong wind gusts but nothing damaging... 9pm: Dead calm, no rain. As per the BoM predicted course, TC Marcia starts tracking south, disaster averted... better get to bed, it's still another work day tomorrow. To all those members who were effected by TC Marcia - we feel your pain & count our blessings.

Dodged a bullet in Mackay, but those down in Yeppoon and Bundy weren't as lucky.

9.00 pm Thursday she was tracking straight for us, then she turned south and came ashore over Shoal Bay and hit Yeppoon around midday Friday.  It was surreal to hear of the damage being done less than 400 km south and yet we had light overcast and just a light breeze.

No-one lost their lives, that's a blessing.  Wishing all those who lost or had their homes damaged all the best.

All good in Darwin, only got some pretty hefty thunder storms from the spiral arms of TC Lam.  He actually crossed the coast about 400km from here.

Alice Springs never has problems with cyclones they figure it's too far to travel.
