I have a Resmed S9 CPAP machine. As I have recently retired, I would like to do some touring on the ST1100 and I will need to organize a rechargeable battery for the CPAP, as I may not have access to mains power if I camp out. Does any one have experience in this area?
I may need to fit the bike with a plug to charge the battery as I go. Any advice will be appreciated. Bike is ex police, so has the bigger alternator for accessories

Philbo, I went down this path with the current wife and a camper trailer. Keep the wife and sold the trailer.

I had to carry an extra AGM car battery that was charged via a Redarc battery isolator system from the car when moving or solar panel when camping in one spot for more then one day.

Also, pending on what "treatment pressure" you require, will increase the amps used = bigger battery.

The battery will be too heavy to carry in the panniers or top box, so, are you towing a trailer, or using the pillion seat??

Also, you will need an converter (12V to 240V) for your CPAP to work and associated connections.

That is just a quick run down from my experience and there is more to the system, of course.

But, you never know there may be someone out there that has already been down this road (on a bike, of course) and have the exact answer your after.

I don't know how old your CPAP is, but there are some on the market (when you're due for replacement) that come with a rechargeable battery that will give 2-3 nights' use. Worth looking into when it's time for replacement.

Thanks for the link about the batteries Abe. Am following up info on Lithium Ion batteries now available tor the CPAP. Recharging from the bike may be the issue,
