Cunning Stunt
« on: March 23, 2015, 07:01:13 PM »
Am on a course of antibiotics at present to fight off a post-medical procedure infection. 7 days of tabs...but they come pre packaged for 5 days?
... so, I have to pay double for 2 prescriptions, to get the full 7 day course? Who the hell put medicines on a 5 day week? Can I get a rebate for 3 days worth of un-needed medications?... I think not....

Government/Medical/Packaging conspiracy?

Now Kev, it's called a "Practice" because they do, a waiting room because you just bloody wait, and you are called a patient, cos you bloody weel gotta be.

I had to buy a package of 8 ampoules of antibiotics to take back to the doctor to have two ampoules injected by his nurse.
"What do I do with the other 6?" I asked.
You can take them home or leave them here."
I detect inefficiencies, but I'm not a doctor or pharmacist, so I could be wrong.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

The best advice that I can give  anyone whom is concerned with the cost of living in this lucky country of ours
Is to become an OAP .
Then any medication that you require is only going to cost you the princely amount of only around $6.00 a script.
I guess that then if  you think that is too much for you or you think that it is worth worring about then try to exist on the  current OAP. relevant pension amount which equates to approx 25% of the basic wage.
I for one am quite happy with the present state of my affairs.
If I have any medications left over from over indulgences and or hangovers etc. I just put them in the refrigerator for the next excess that I might have.(hopefully ).
Cheers .

I am already an OAP... and that extra 12 dollars plus for the two scrips equals the fortnightly cost of my meat. (2 x 2kg packs of chicken drumsticks from Aldi)

The hospital informs me that its costing $20,000 per fortnight for my Chemo to which I pay nothing, so I'm not complaining

Know what you mean.  The antibiotics my daughter has for when she gets tonsillitis come in a box of 50, but she only ever needs to take 40.  This means we always have extras lying around.  Works for me though, because then every 4th time we don't actually need to buy them.  Mine, on the other hand come in a box of 7 and I need to take a 5 day course at 2 tabs a day, hence need to buy the 2nd box and have the leftovers hanging round.
