Posting this on behalf of an ST1100 owner in Victoria.....I have requested pics.
I have only just heard of your club for the ST1100 when a friend of mine recently ran into several of your members. I have a very good ST 1100 1999 model 200.000kms. All servicing up to date and timing belt not due for another 50,000kms and always done by a certified m/c mechanic since new. It has heated handlebars, gear sack rack on back, High screen with original still available, woolly seat cover and other Air-Hawk? as well. Plus many other features. I have kept a record of all servicing which gives the major repairs done in servicing. The bike has never let me down and repairs have been normal maintained things like head bearings, brakes. It would not have done 1000kms since the last service. Rego due July.
It is running well with no known problems and I would have kept it until either me or the bike died, but with age creeping on 82 last week it is time to sell. I actually overbalanced at Xmas time and although the bike was not in any way damaged, my right leg must have scraped the right foot pedal, with a very nasty gash on my leg which took a long time to heal, so one must obey always better advice.
Since joining the Ulysses club in 1987 I have ridden over 500,000 kms on 5 bikes, and this one of course has been the best. I only use the bike for long trips never just running around our town which is Alexandra in the North Central area of Victoria
This bike has never been in an accident, although it has fallen over three times with only minor marks on the side covered bars which are there to stop it hitting the ground.
We have put it on EBay today and they said it may not appear for a few days and although I cannot get back to the email my son has sent me I think it was at
$4,500. NOW $3,900So please if you know anyone who wants an excellent bike as an 1100 starter then this is the one at very reasonable cost.
So if anyone wants to bid through EBay then they may of course do so or contact me in a months time to see the result.
