Hopefully won't lead to loonies doing amateur "me too" jobs, crashing out and putting pressure on the gummint to resume limits.
One of my neighbours, a 38 year old guy, in District 7 of Sai Gon, has and uses (once a week on Sunday late afternoon) a genuine fire breathing, full house track racing version of the Porsche 997 GT2.

Until recently, I always thought it was a 911 GT2
He very kindly let me drive it up and back for a total distance of about 5kms along one of our roads, Nguyễn lu'ong Bang, three wide lanes in each direction with a lovely, wide divider strip about 4m wide, grass, flowering bushes and trees, separating traffic flow direction.
Once was enough ! Never got out of 1st gear, NO accelerator pedal usage but still had to keep slipping the clutch and tapping on the brakes the whole way.

A car with a six speed gear box and potential top speed of something like 328 kph and a MAXIMUM speed limit for cars on the streets of Vietnamese cities of a whole 60 kph !

It's FAR too dangerous driving / riding on country roads because of the trucks, buses, carts, water buffaloo, etc. - NONE of which have the faintest idea what the words 'road safety' means !

He told me afterwards his car had never been driven that fast before - I got it all the way up to the 60kph speed limit !
BAWHAAAAAAAA !

His idea of driving his Porsche is to drive it up from our underground car park area, through the security gates, 15 - 20m or so across the road. Stop on the corner outside the local family owned supermarket, leaving the engine running and still sitting in it, have a talk to a few of his friends for 1/2 of so. Then turn the car around and drive back in through the security gates and back down into the car parking area.
