Mate of mine is in deep trouble....
« on: April 24, 2015, 03:08:53 PM »
A bit of background here....

I have a friend, James, who gained the nickname Gen-e (rhymes with Jennie), after his failed effort to repair a generator on his car... (something shorted, and it went up in smoke and did considerable damage to the electrics.)

Anywho... Another couple of friends, Graham and his wife Jess had some holidays coming up, but at the last minute, Gra's boss postponed his holiday for 2 weeks. Seeing as they had already booked their tickets, Jess took their teenage daughter along instead, otherwise they would have lost a substantial amount of money with pre-paid airfares and accommodation on the Gold Coast.

Jess rang Gra on arrival in Queensland to inform him of their safe trip. 2 days passed before she called again, and she asked Gra how he was managing on his own?
He replied "I am not on my own, I have company... 'Gen-e' James, an old friend of mine has come to town, and is staying here with me."

Jess hung up in his ear, and won't answer his calls, she has not contacted him again all this week.......

For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

They'll all laugh about it in six months.  In the meantime, there is lots of recovery work to be done.    :Chocies

I organised a visit to see Gra and Gen-e tonight, as Jess was due on the bus a few minutes before midnight. Had to twitch up his computer a little.
Used it to post a couple of items before Jess arrived.

Jess and daughter Anna arrived home in a taxi from the bus depot at 12.10 am, I was having a coffee with Gra and Gen-e when she stormed in...
I looked her straight in the eye, and said "Oh, Hi Jess, this is my mate Gen-e! ... Gra and Gen-e and myself all went to high school together.
Gen-e has been staying here with Gra for a few days, before he heads home to Sydney, tomorrow!"

She stood with her mouth open for a full five seconds while the penny dropped, got a huge grin on her face, and threw her arms around Gra.

Gen-e came home with me tonight, and is staying over before he flies out tomorrow morning.

 All good. :thumbs

Well, Gen-e is on his way home and Gra starts his holiday on Tuesday, Anna celebrates her 19th Birthday on Thursday, so I guess they will have plenty of Family time together to sort out any other problems they may have.
