LED Strobes for the ST1100 (or 1300)
« on: April 30, 2015, 07:55:53 PM »
My Narva 85203A Amber LEDs have finally arrived from Redline (Half the price of the Auto stores). Brackets have been manufactured, mounting holes drilled and tapped. Now the wiring to do. Photos later. there will be four 3LED light heads to the rear and two on the front. Currently programmed  into two groups,. so the flashes will alternate.

I may at a later date fit another pair to each side. A short movie of the finished job will be posted.

And a circuit diagram, or will that be subject to patent rights?

And a circuit diagram as it applies to this LED set. The lights are able to be dimmed at night, and will be able to have the flash pattern changed as well.

It's a parts list I'd be looking for.     :grin

Here is the circuit as applied to the 1100 police version, the 1300 should be the same.

Circuit removed for now, the is a fault in the main wiring diagram.

Very tidy diagram.  Well done.  Thanks for that.

It looks easier on paper, its a bugger to make, especially as I am spicing into the loom and heat shrinking every thing and putting plugs on it so broken LEDs can be easily replaced.

Cutting stripping twisting and crimping wire is wrecking my delicate hands and fingers.

 o:) o:)

I will put up a generic diagram a bit later.

The number 3 will do that, (via relay), 1 will be fore and aft, 2 will be side (if I fit them )

What are you stuck on? You shouldn't need a relay for any of the connections. What circuit have you removed?
Can I help?

You have a 5 year warranty on LEDs, I don't think you'll be replacing them anytime soon.

The relay is to allow the 3 switch to change the flash pattern, as the switch switches an earth(return). to change the pattern requires a 12V+ applied to the sync wire. If I apply an earth, the light will just dim.

The circuit was the wiring diagram, the original I was using had some errors that I need to fix before its republished

All working now,

Note the prominent red and blue light on the dash ( its the SR10 ) that may be why cars get out of the way in the morning run up the freeway.
