Google Maps
« on: May 06, 2015, 09:19:08 AM »
I've found myself trapped in the all singing and dancing *NEW* Google Maps.

And hate it.

So do many other riders on other forums.

One of the heavyweights came up with this:

https://maps.google.com/maps?output=classi

The final missing "c" is intentional.  Try it- it'will locate you in USA, but you can change your preference to your suburb easily.

It seems "improvements" to software just make them look nicer, not more useful.  For instance, using it for route planning is limited to 10 waypoints now.

Dang!       :-(((
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

This is something that worked a lot better before the so called improvements.

I always said the new one sucks, and prefer to use the classic version

You've given Google permission to access your location.
You can opt out of that, but you have to give them your bike.
