Not an ST Day but an MGB Day
« on: June 07, 2015, 04:31:40 PM »
Took the B out for a spin today sporting her new wheels and tyres and of course New Brakes (feels good to be able to stop and in a straight line too)

Thought I'd snap a couple of pics, these were taken at the Bli Bli boat ramp.

I had to change out the rims as the wet seasons in townsville had taken their toll on the spokes and rims sitting in a damp garage for months on end..

When we moved I drove the MG down and one wheel failed north of rocky. So this time around I replaced them with Dunlop rims at $375 each and put 55 inch tyres instead of 65 at $90 each to clear the rear wheel arches. I don't know what wheels were on it i had put them on when i restored the car in 1996

Gr8 looking vehicle, Sabie - definitely not a "cage" - must be a real buzz 2 drive.

:hatwave   And with that roll-bar u have the unique ability 2 drive swiftly and feel the breeze in your face without a helmet!

An iconic car.
I always lusted after one in BRG.
My sister-in-law still drives a powder blue one which she bought new in the early seventies.
A surprising amount of leg room for the passenger.
I have no talent for restoring old cars or bikes but I'm glad there are people who do. :thumbsup
