A Gift from Someone You Love
« on: June 23, 2015, 04:35:16 PM »
This Weekend just gone I went to the South Burnett Eg Murgon and Kingaroy with Youngster his Lad Nathan and PC to take part in the cycling event as Moto Scouts.

On my return home Sunday Evening there was a card on my pillow and some of it read.

The rest is mushy personal stuff you would be interested in.... So I have an IOU for one Honda Goldwing..

1. How cool is that
2. What a woman my wife is
3  have you seen this years Goldwing .. Not the nicest livery.

Sabie, I hear that those Wings take a long time 2 maintain, eg, 4 hours 2 get 2 the air filter etc, therefore u will b so busy that time will fly and b4 u know it, years have gone by and u will be wonderfully distracted from the tedium of the next medical procedure. Clever loving wife that 1!

This is very nice indeed and there is hardly anything better in life  than a supporting wife....... But the question must be asked: is the gold wing indeed  an improvement on the ST1300 ?

She's addressing a long held desire of mine to own a Goldwing.  I'm not rushing into this and I'm also not taking advantage of my wife's desire to give me things due to my health status.

However, the gesture is beautiful, and I wanted to share her generous act. I'll have a look around, kick a few tyres at dealerships. I've applied for an early release of my Super and if that comes through I'll have a more serious look.

Yes in lots of ways, my old 88 wing had an LCD screen I could read anytime, my 20 year younger ST1300 has an LCD screen I am lucky to be able to read 50% of my riding time, but basically they are just different, horses for courses.
It is a little like I said to my niece when she was giving me a hard time about my various toys, I simply asked her how many pairs of shoes she had!!!

Yes but all that is in workshop and planned but the 5 minutes to take the back wheel off on the side of the road is a good trade off.
Wings have their place, unfortunately Honda seems to have lost the plot with Wings just like the ST. The 40th anniversary model just has a different colour scheme and a few extra badges compared to the 2014 model but $36,000 for a bike that doesn't have a 12V outlet, wake up Mr Honda

The best sentiment is the one "JUST BECAUSE"......

Enjoy the shopping and make sure you don't trade your wife when you find the right ride  ;-*
