Taxed again!
« on: June 23, 2015, 10:38:50 PM »
They snuck in the fuel tax through the back door, so now it will increase twice per year, by about 40 cents per car tankfill.

And Labor, who recently called it “Tonys Bowser Bandit Tax”, have backflipped again, and now support it!

Only thing with this is that now everything will go up every six months and then the GST component also goes up with it. One more knife in the coffin for low income earners and those on govt. payments.

It's being changed so they can continue making the govt payments!    :whistle

Well, as Joe Hockey said... SOMEBODY has to pay the rent! (As long as it's not himself, paying to live in a Canberra house owned by his wife...)
Last year, he was only paid $48,000 'Living away from home ' allowance to stay in that house... with his wife....

Mr Ferguson was debating government legislation imposing a four-week welfare waiting period for jobless under 25s, which he said failed to take into account families in crisis and entrenched social disadvantage.

The budget measure will also lower their rate of payment by about $50 a week by pushing them onto Youth Allowance.

The MP said the treasurer received more in travel allowances staying at his wife's Canberra residence than some welfare recipients got a week.

"In one week they earn what he gets in overnight allowance for staying here, and not paying rent."

It seems as though we have not yet reached our breaking point. I watch the evening News and there's nothing about people being evicted no news about foreclosures or repossessions. While there is no reporting of those issues and acts the general population believe we're not quite there yet, there is still a little room yet.

But and a big but, those things are happening, people are loosing their homes, their cars and their livelihoods every day we just don't get to hear about it or see it.

The last job I had was full of older gentlemen who were at the end. This job was driving a shuttle bus to and from the Sunshine Coast to the Brisbane airport at $20 and hour, no overtime, unpaid 15 min break in 12 hours. If the bus was down for an hour waiting for delayed flight then no pay for that time.

One driver was a surveyor who had been let go by the mines and due to his age wasn'table to get a job at all  let alone in his profession.

Another driver was a panel beater unable to secure employment

Another a mechanic and another a retail manager all aged around 57 58 years old. They unfortunately finished their careers early due to retrenchment and are considered too old (they suspect) while younger 30 yo get the job.

So my point is, the true impact isn't known by the general public as a whole, therefore the government will keep on increasing taxes and decreasing services.

Just wait until the car industry closes up  in 2017 and you get most of those workers on Newstart soon after. I think the estimate was around 90,000 people out of work so almost overnight that means 90,000 x $250 or $22,500,000 a week in extra welfare payments (based on single person rate).

Recently 50,000 people out of work in the mining industry as well so I've heard.

SO ?????   What's the 'alternative cleaner fuel' for my ST1100 ???  Is it getting close time to go back to riding a horse ?

Two highly skilled, professional gentlemen I've known well for many years both got laid off this last week.

One is a highly thought of and highly qualified mining engineer with decades of experience in the field.

Now just waiting for the gubberment low-life back room pen pushers to figure out a way to legitimize, in their tiny little minds, a way to cut back on war pensions as well !

No.  The 'pollution' from so many horses replacing vehicles would be shoulder-deep in the cities within a month,
along with a dramatic increase of greenhouse gasses!  :rofl
