Hotteeze Foot Warmers
« on: August 03, 2015, 08:21:16 PM »
I can't claim that I found these, as I read about them on Wombattle's web page documenting his Iron Butt Rides.
http://wombattler.com/

I bought some "Hotteeze" for Feet and tried them out on the Border Run.   They are a one-shot sticky pad that you stick onto the underside of your sock.    When the pack is opened and exposed to air, the contents undergo an exothermic reaction and give off heat at around 37 degrees for quite a few hours.  My feet stayed warm for the four hours it took me to ride from home to out near Iron Knob on Friday night., and were still cranking the heat out after six hours.  (there can't be much fresh air inside my boots)  Generating a temperature of 37 degrees, they do not feel particularly hot, but very effectively stop your feet from getting cold.   A pack containing five pairs of Hotteeze for Feet will cost you just $10 plus shipping.   I bought two packs (10 pair) and Hotteeze tossed in another pair.

See  http://www.hotteeze.com.au/  for more information and ordering.

Yes they are good gear....I use the equivalent in "little hotties".  :thumbs

I have the ones that go in my boots and the one that snuggles around my waist.......both good for about 6hrs of warmth.

The ones in my boots do last a lesser time the closer they come to their expiry date.

What is the one around the waist? I have used toasty toes and very similar experience. But that lower back is hard to keep warm.

The Jett vests specifically direct infra red heat to the lower back. I bought mine on this trip but have not used the battery. I can show it to you in Perth

I still found my Jett to be too high and would be perfect if across the lower back rather than vertical. I wad thinking of taking the element off the jet and sticking across lower back of AEG Hoodie. I have a spare Jett as i bought large first and then only needed a medium.

Nice idea but I my feet don't usually get cold. This year I could have used heated grips/gloves for the last hour on the ride back from the Swan Reach last month so I might look into it before next winter.
