What a brilliant insight into the time period, how much better would today's drivers be if they acted with a little more patience & courtesy?

Hand signals, indicators, and brake lights are totally useless with following cage drivers who are tapping away on their mobile... maybe a better idea would be to drop a hand grenade when slowing or turning? .. or a rearward facing gun that fires a shot through their windscreen to attract their attention as you tap the brake?

What stood out for me was the head gear.  The mock accident victim wasn't wearing any head protection, a number of those riding into the alleyway and dismounting were wearing just cloth caps and goggles, and the few wearing any PPE at all had only leather helmets.  But, 1952 or whatever only had 52 road deaths.

What a different time, motorbikes seemed to be a major means of transport, look at the number of bikes with sidecars on them that appeared through the film.

That was the same back when dad (now 80) was growing up in NSW. The available cars were to expensive for the average worker so it was either public transport, push bike or motorcycle if you wanted more than just walking anywhere.
