Newbie from Ballarat area.
« on: April 27, 2012, 10:42:21 PM »
Hello thought i had better introduce myself. My name is Dan I reside in Sulky just shy of Ballarat. Have been riding for only 8 years and had four bikes in this time. My first bike was a Yamaha FZ250 which I loved and shouldn't have sold it. The a posti bike only to ride to work and back on (don't laugh it only cost me about $7.00 a week to run). My BMW K100 was a great bike that once again I shouldn't have sold but it died and had to go. Then had a spel for a while. Then about six months ago my good friend Marcus Stringo got a new ST1300 and talked to me about a rally in the Blue Mountains coming up he was going to with a club called the OzSTOC. With in a couple of months I found a good ST1100 in Melbourne (only $4,100 bargin) ride it to the Blue Mountains (via West Wyalong and Bathurst), meet a great bunch of people and had a great ride then a great ride home along the NSW and VIC coast. Cant wait until Victor Habour.

Cheers Dan

Then it's about time you joined in The Forum!!

It's the same bunch of no-hopers you found up at Blackheath, plus some we keep in the cupboard for fear of frightening the horses and children (Brock comes to mind).   :eek

And if you keep spelling VH that way, they won't let you into S.A.   :popcorn
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

It's ok Biggles, I think it maybe more of a case where they might not let you out again. Wasn't that long ago they reckoned SA's population was leaving for a better life........lol

Might explain why most of the ST's are to the East and West of us.

Hi Dan. I had to look up Sulky, and I have been passed there many times but obviously missed the signs to it...I have relatives and friends in Bendigo, and my younger sister trained as a nurse in Ballarat.

Good onya Dan - great to see you out at Blackheath. Seems like this ST has been one of the great things to happen to you then eh?    :rofl

Enjoy your time here. I love the Ballarat area of VIC and up to Dalesford etc.  Make sure you wear out a few sets of tyres around there - Stringo knows a great Chowder House!

Cheers, Diesel
