Looking for shortest /quickest route
« on: November 15, 2019, 04:00:10 PM »
Looking for the shortest and or quickest route from Townsville to Adelaide on SEALED roads.

On the attached map is the road sealed all the way?

The route from Adelaide to Cunnamulla is sealed the whole way.  Hopefully someone else can advise on the Cunnamulla to Townsville portion.

Yeah you may have to adjust to go via Cunnumulla as from memory your route goes Warry Gate Road which is a mix of sealed/unsealed south of the Noccundra Hotel
One day you will wake up and there won't be anymore time to do the things you've always wanted so do them NOW!!!
Remember there are 7 days in a week and Someday isn't one of them!

I'll put up a route on my Rider 450 and set it up as shortest route and avoiding known dirt/gravel roads But at a guess it would via Bourke.

This is the route my GPS came up with https://goo.gl/maps/cKNAH2LqKGbFn24q8

and this one for the most economical https://goo.gl/maps/YieMJzi9pK4hMg2y5 which happens to be shorter as well.

I'm more worried about the NSW and SA roads as I've not been down that way before.

You can always zoom in on Google maps and look at the road

In some cases that may only tell you what it was like in 2008.

Yes but if it was sealed then it should still be sealed unless washed away in a flood.

The two routes I put up in a previous post are sealed roads all the way.
