Pull out lever under seat LHS.
« on: January 26, 2021, 07:05:31 AM »
A real newbie question I’m sorry but what is the lever that hinges out just under the seat on the LHS of bike?

If it is like the ST1300
It's to help the bike up onto the centre stand

On the ST1300 you:
1. lower the Centre stand until it touches the road/surface on both sides,
2. hold the left handle bar,
3. grab the handle/lever near the seat,
4. then stand on the pedal of the centre stand,
5. the bike lifts itself onto the centre stand.

I hope that makes sense.

I suspect it's the same on the ST1100.

That's what I was trying to explain. It seems there is a video for everything.

Thanks all. My first reaction was ‘maybe it’s a reverse gear mechanism like on the Goldwings’. A closer inspection put that to rest

A lot of us would be very grateful for that mod!  My long-suffering pillion has had to push me out of a few situations I let myself get into.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott
