We have an electric bus at work that the state government was happy to use as a PR exercise but in reality it spends more time in the depot than it does on the rood.

That seems to be a common occurrence around the World, Bodø!
Poor range & reliability are just some of the issues bus companies are discovering with their EV fleet...  :fp

The state government owns it but we run it.  It doesn't have the range to do a whole shift, not to mention batteries on the roof means it won't fit under trees on some routes.  At present it only does 99 city circle runs but has to be changed over to be recharged.

The Scottish police apparently fitted up one of the cities with about 10 electric cars ( I think it was 10) . It seems that the cars lasted half a shift, and then needed12 hours to recharge. so for or 24 hours , they had cars on the road for around 8, and no petrol powered as back ups...

It's crazy what some people will do (and put up with) when they think they are saving the planet...lol
Meanwhile everyone else is out buying their thirsty twin cab utes...  :rofl

I'm wondering how long before those Countries that have mandates to ban ICE vehicles before a certain date have a change of heart...  :whistle

EV's take 1/2 to 1 hour to charge, so that story's a furphy.

Knowing the Scottish Govt, pretty much like most Govts, didnt get fast chargers, or the power supply at the station wasnt suitable..

Its a typical funny tale but..
