UPDATE FROM THE ORGANZERSI took a run to Middleton today to say "hello" again to Jane and Graeme at the Caravan Park. Bookings are rolling in, and they are looking forward to meeting us all. Please don't forget to advise them if you are an additional body in one of the cabins. I've booked into my cabin for the Thursday night as well, so I'll be there on Thursday arvo to meet and greet the early arrivals.
Goolwa Lions Club (Rod Blogg - Catering Manager) are providing a
hot catered breakfast for us on Saturday and Sunday mornings for a cost of $10 per head (per day), payable on the morning. We also hope to be able to invite other caravan park patrons to join us, so we can swap travel stories. Rod is happy for that to occur, and I need to liaise with Jane and Graeme about how best to make that happen and give Rod some possible numbers.
If you are looking for hard accomodation and the park cabins are full, check out the many B&B facilities in Middleton through the local agent Dodd & Page.
www.doddandpage.com.au I called in today and spoke to Kerry Ruge, their Holiday Rentals Manager. Kerry was very positive about having us in the area, and helping us out with "overflow" accomodation. She's going to keep an eye on our web site as I left her with an OzSTOC business card.
I've nailed down a
fantastic photo opportunity spot at the Victor Harbor Golf Club, towards the end of Saturday's ride, and the manager is happy to have us on site.
He wants the local paper to get involved, so closer to the event I'll be in touch with the paper about a story/photo at the Golf Club and see if they can come down to Middleton for one of the breakfasts. Everyone wins (Golf Club, Lions, Middelton Caravan Park, OzSTOC) if they give us a bit of positive coverage with a story in the local press.
Thats all I have to update you with for the moment, and all is going to plan with the organizing. A detailed program for the
2013 Middleton OzSTOC Rally will be available just after Christmas.
See you all in March.... Pete
