Just tried to book, But they said not to ring till march as the new cabins should be in by then. They will be more expensive they reckon. They said they cant take anymore names as they have nothing to book those names against.

Benita is the Manager there, she seems to have things well in hand.
Benita's pretty easy on the eyes too  :thumbsup

Hi guys,
I'll definately be there and will take how ever many days are required and ride down with the rest of teh Qld crew. Not sure if Marissa can make it though, as she's currently looking for a new job, so holdays might be an issue.

John, Terry and Lionel. Happy to share a cabin with you fella's if there is a bed available?

Oh, BMW's are allowed aren't they? God help me if it breaks down!!!!  ::)

Cheers

I think John is going to organise a cabin. Barry have you ridden a Goldwing - great bike!

Yeah I test rode a Goldwing at last years Snowy Ride. John (Saaz) was giving the new VFR1200 a bit of a fang in the same group.

I loved the wing. Marissa was unimpressed, and felt there was more buffeting on the wing than on the ST1300.  The wing did everything so effortlessly though. The consensis was that I was too young for a wing. We agreed I would buy myself one for my 50th birthday. So I have another 2 years to go!

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit.

I had better get onto it then!

I have given my details to get a x4 cabin. She will get back about details.  Seems BMW riders are rich so they cost more!

Hi All,

I have just heard about the club and joined last week, still learning to drive this site. I live in Albany WA and am considering coming across for the rally. Other than the caravan park, are there many other options for accommodation without tenting it?

Cheers

Hello Belzy,
The Tourist park has cabins of varying shapes and sizes, powered, and unpowered camping sites, some of us have booked the larger cabins and will sell of the beds, as there are multiple's in each one, or you can get a smaller cabin. What sort of accommodation are you thinking?

Hi Streak,

A cabin or unit / motel would be good, its a long run from Albany to NSW, I don't think we would want to be tenting it. My wife and I will be both 55 in April next year, even on the ST1300, backsides and backs will probably a little worse for wear after that trip. Do you know if anyone else from WA is considering doing the trip?

Cheers

Belzy

Best thing I can suggest belzy is ring and place a booking, I know a couple of WA members are thinking of the run, but as Brock said we are still 5 months out, all the contact details of the caravan park are in the first post.

I think once bookings are confirmed there will be spare beds between all the cabins.  We just have to get slightly organised and do some trades.

Hi Belzy I'm still thinking of coming too, will get serious after Xmas. I'll be taking my trailer & tenting so gunna take pot luck with where I'll pitch my tent.
BTW take it it from one who'll also be 55 by then, your only as old as the woman you feel (Oh that's right she's 55 too)  :p

Hi Scarp,

Yes we are still deciding as well, not a great tenter I'm afraid, we like to sleep in a bed, we will take a tent if we go in case of emergencies. I will watch this space to get updates as it gets closer.

Well guys If every thing goes right I might be aaadding Mrs Tipsy to the ride.... Now this will depend entirely on two things .....1 It looks like she will need  triple bypass surgery because the junior surgeon was not capable of doing the stints in the last 3 days that the "specialist" said could be done and of course he was not there to give instructions..(PAH QLD) etc pubic hospital_
typical PA  and  ETC.@%$#!@
The second being that someone could take her as pillion My Machine is rego one only....I would help with fuel costs of course...
No 2 relies on No1 of course. and in either circumstance I still have permission to go .
So in the foreseable  future I hope that some might be able to help with No2
regards
Tipsy

Talking it over with my Missus last night she's keen for me to go rekons she'll fly over stay at her brothers place at Barham NSW so I can stop by,
take her to the rally then drop her back off there on the way back. Said her bum would never survive the Nullarbor
So I'm starting to make plans looking good

Oh, it's that kind of get-together, is it?
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Hi all.  I'm a possible starter for the Blackheath gathering, and if I look like I'm free to go, I'll book an unpowered tent site in the next couple of months.  How many people have expressed interest so far?
Cheers
