SHARK EvoLine series3
« on: March 04, 2014, 08:55:04 AM »
Would like to get a SHARK  EvoLine series3 (Matt Black). Does anyone have any feedback on them? Also where can I pick one up in the Darling Downs area in QLD?

I love mine, have had it for about 16 months now, it has worked really well, fitted my Sena SMH10 to it, i bought mine from toowoomba Honda, if you identify yourself as an OzSTOC member they will give you a 7.5% discount as well  :thumb i delt with david while i was there (tell him you know Graham from Hip Pocket)

I recently bought one here in Perth and although very very comfortable I must say I find it to be a bit noisy.
Guy in Helmet House explained that was because of flip mechanism design and I can see that there is no other real way around it but gets really annoying if your screen gets broken and you have 1000 odd km still to travel.
As I said though, very comfortable.

I have heard they are a bit noisy, but I think they are the only modular helmet that can flip right back and ride as an open. Most flip up to 12 o'clock position and are not ment to ride as an open?

I have used the Evo 3 for a year or two now.  Might be relatively noisy, but I always wear earplugs anyway.  I will have to try one of my old full face helmets just to see.  Best thing about the Evo 3 is that it is crash rated with the chin bar up, ie as an open face helmet.  No other modular is rated that way.  It has many improvements over the Evo 2, such as you can open the chin bar without having to first open the visor; visor has definite steps all the way to fully closed, so you can crack it open slightly for ventilation; interior is far more comfortable and better ventilation.

All flip fronts are a bit noisy, the Evo 3 is one of the best I have worn. Dont know that I would go for matt balck, the Head gets hot enough in the summer sun with a white helmet, with out wearing a solar panel...
