air intake
« on: December 16, 2014, 12:10:11 PM »
 :bl11 Hello All,
the air intake hose coming from front right faring.
I removed the air cleaner/fuel tank cover for some maint, and noticed the hose finished ?? going nowhere,(see photos) is it just directing air over fuel tap, or should there be some more hose directing air into cleaner, couldnt see anywhere where it might go???

Your right, it is to direct air onto the fuel cock.

I did read this somewhere on this site or ST-Owners

Supposedly it cools the fuel tap down. Very early models also had a left hose to direct air back there, but it was dropped only after a year or so. The fitting is on the left side front so a hose could be put on.

If you look at the air intake there are 2 rectangular openings on the bottom at the rear, these hoses direct air to those intakes.
