Are southerners invited? If so, Inverell is now in my diary.

I'll be travelling from Adelaide to Inverell on my own and here's my intended route. Is anyone else going this way that I can hook up with?
Since your route is 1684 kms you might as well do it in one shot and get your IBA SS1600.
Alternatively, the road from Narrabri to Bingara is a good sealed road, as is the one from Bingara to Delungra, saving a fair bit of travel.
Now there's a Strang coincidence! Wot thuh
Any relation?
Do we get 20% discount? :grin
I'll get a couple of FR10's under my belt before I tackle anything like an SS1600. I've done a couple of days close to 1,000km, so I just need to make it formal by doing over 1,000 for an organized FarRide.
Are any NSW bikes travelling on the Friday rather than Saturday? :13Candy
Streak
I'll see you Friday then as I'm going to take it easy on the way there! Wondering whether I can get my 24,000 kms service done whilst I'm there....

Update on the 24,000 km service. Spoke with Vince Strang's today and the ST is booked in on the Friday afternoon after I arrive in Inverell. $570 to complete the major service and not between $900 and $1100 as quoted by numerous places in Sydney ! BARGAIN. :13Candy

I wont be able to attend the RTE this year as it conflicts with the Wall to Wall Ride for Rememberence ( www.walltowallride.com (http://www.walltowallride.com))
Tackleberry along with TC and myself will be there and maybe some more Ozstoc members but we'll see on the day.
If the date of the Inverell ride could be changed to a week later then I'd be able to attend both. I think there would be a few Ozstoc members that would also attend both.
I've seen the videos but not been on the ride before, apparently it's quite a gathering.
I really enjoyed Inverell last year, have a good time.
Brad
Great now I've been told I have a fire investigation job near Inverell next week!:grin Good planning, can u do it with your our vehicle/ HONDA ST1300 :thumb

Diesel, a more interesting road in my opinion is to go to Stanthorpe then across to Texas. There are some 25Km/h corners on that road. Also watch for coppers with their revenue books near the dam on road to Boonah.
:bl11
Great stuff thanks mate. I was in for your suggestion - only it adds 40 mins to the trip which I don't really have. But I have locked it in for as soon as opportunity presents itself.
Cheers, Diesel
It's 12 km further to go down to the Stanthorpe turn-off. The advantage I see is it avoids that horrible boring Cunningham Highway west of Warwick. I guess I'm just looking for something different. Not sure how they arrive at 40 minutes extra. I think I can do 12 km in less that 40 minutes on country roads.
I let Google Maps do my homework.....

Maybe it calculated the 110km/h speed limit into the equation.
And Steveo said there are 25km/h posted corners that route which would add to the greater time difference.

If you'd like to accompany me down to lunch at Texas with the rest of the gang - be at the Beaudesert Maccas 0815 for a 0830 ride out. Time for a quick coffee.
