At this stage, I plan on arriving on Friday arvo, so I'd be keen to have a look around. :thumbs
Hey saaz, maybe we could share it.
No problems if you want a bed. Room number 5 if you get there before me (quite likely!) just say it is for John! Ensuite and all. I could even bring that screen for the 1100 if you want a look and compare.
I am just catching up with messages etc etc as quite a few build up when I am away, and all this extra stuff is happening on top. I might even have to take the ipad when I travel to keep up, which sort of defeats the purpose of getting away on the bike :OldManHey saaz, maybe we could share it.
A small Cafe/Restaurant in the village of North Dorrigo is happy to open just for our Lunch on the Saturday if we can give them >10 participants for lunch......will have the usual Cafe fare in a quaint setting.
If you could advise your interest to attend so we can confirm with the Cafe.....they dont normally open for lunch but will by appointment for our RTE.
Lunch planned for a 12:00 at North Dorrigo :grin

If you are travelling in from the East, either the Waterfall Way OR the Grafton-Armidale road are very ST friendly choices ;-*

This is tempting but I'd have to leave home at around 4 in the morning and I still haven't developed my long distance legs yet, I'll have to think on this one.
Jean, You're a cheeky devil........I'll wait till we get a little closer to decide. I would have been at the end of two weeks holidays by then so I may be nice and relaxed.
I will leave Friday and go the more interesting way. I don't know where or when I will stop Friday afternoon, but having done a few distance rides lately it is likely to be shorter distances rather than longer. A trip into Dorrigo for lunch sounds ok, as it means a sleep in somewhere - Urunga pub, since I could not make that one??Jean, You're a cheeky devil........I'll wait till we get a little closer to decide. Yep you can put us down for lunch we are staying in Glen Innis on Friday night
So might bump into you on the way

Uralla and Guyra weather is no problem. They are both higher than Canberra (I am at 530 metres or so, they are 1000 metres plus above sea level) so I just expect it to be a bit colder than home. And they keep on saying that Canberra is a cold place... :rofl
Once the sun is out (if it does) it is not that bad.
Hay Plains Pete ?? :runyay
That's an awesome tag line Pete :-++ :-++ :-++

Just booked a double room for Marissa and I at Uralla. Looking forward to the trip and digging out all the winter riding gear I once owned. Have to find it first? :think1
The only odd part was I questioned the guy about the price as he quoted me $80 for a double room?
I mentioned that it was down as $70 for a double on our website? He told me it was $80 for a double room for two people and $70 for a double room if only one person stays in the room?
I wonder if they only wash one side of the sheets on those nights? :eek
We love you too Pinky :thumb :grin :phone ( SECURITY, SECURITY to South Australia on the double ) :rofl

We be going through Ebor about 10:15 if you want to meet up......Great little country Coffee shop on the right hand side in the village called Fuss Pots.....the Guyra to Ebor road is sealed but a little rugged in places in the middle section.

Arvo John et al...
Just got a message from Laurie, he'll be coming to :thumb
Cheers the can :-)
Morning folks,
Just back from a morning surf and feel invigorated...or is that snap frozen? The water is still about 22 degrees but the ambient temp....6 or 7.
Not too many sleeps for the Uralla run, really looking forward to the weekend. See most of you at Dorrigo for lunch I guess. A couple of us are travelling from the Gold Coast via Iluka, Grafton and Coffs. Are we having a group ride into Uralla from Ebor perhaps?
This motely crew doing the lunch ride from Uralla to North Dorrigo on the Saturday, will be about an hour behind you at Ebor Barry, unless you depart Kyogle a little earlier and want lunch at North Dorrigo....we arriving around 12:00, beaut little ride in from the Grafton-Armidale Rd at Tyringham :thumb:dred11 :dred11 :dred11
Looks like we have an RTE within a RTE

What happened to your Urunga plans ??? :think1
I'm booked into the Bushranger Motor Inn, Uralla, Fri 11 and Sat 12 Jul.
I'll be towing the bike and leaving it and the trailer at a secret destination on the way to have some work done to it.
I can also offer a gratis passenger/courier service Canberra, Goulburn, Bathurst, Mudgee, Gunnedah, Barraba, Uralla and return via the same route.
Please add me to the dinner list on Sat night.
Well just to put all your minds at rest........

Aren't you all lucky it's not going to be cold after all :runyay :whistle
:beer
Fish and I are heading off tomorrow morning. Its gunna be better here Pete - 90% chance 1-5mm and wind speed only 23-25kms per hr, only showers maybe on Thursday :wink1
We've got a storm front moving through as I write this, and tomorrow's forecast is for 40km/h winds, heavy showers, with possible thunderstorms and hail....... Bugger. Not what I had hoped for :fp
MINUS 11 at Glen Innes last night, and Guyra is usually colder than Glen.
Maybe it will warm up before the weekend.
I can laugh- the ride I'm committed to is coastal in daylight.
Biggles don't tell them that :well :wink1 or that we are to get snow on Thursday and possible for Saturday :||||
Just think warm thoughts :whistle
Well. My ride last week on the other Honda got cut short so a Christmas celebration sounds great. See you all on Saturday. Any suggestions on a sensible arrival time?3pm - the warmest part of the day :grin

The riders from the Saturday ride to Dorrigo should be back around the fire at the pub by 4pm (ish).......if that helps :thumb

Sweet, thanks. Took me a while to work out why you were all carrying on about cold. Then I realised I will only have to leave on Saturday rather than take an extra day to get to the other Uralla where the forecast is 30.9 degrees.
So the New England Cool'n'Crispy Cruise will kick off from Uralla on the Saturday morning at around 0930 from the Pub......We will do Uralla - Armidale - Tryingham - Nth Dorrigo (Lunch) - Ebor - Uralla. So you will get to experince some of the best of the WaterFall Way and a few twisty back roads......even a hoon :-((( down & back up the beautifull Dorrigo Mtn if you wish ??
Options to see along the way (to be decided by the group on the day) Wollomombi falls (2nd Highest in Aust), Ebor Falls, Dorrigo Steam Rail collection, Dorrigo NP rainforest Skywalk......even Dan Seymours memorial :whistle
Can meet any riders coming in from the coast at North Dorrigo for lunch :eat
A Lazy 300 k's for the Day......and back to Uralla before the real New England winter chill sets in and to the open fire :thumbsup
I heard it was snowing in Armidale
Snow 30 km from Guyra. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Snow 30 km from Guyra. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I suppose that would be in the Ben Lomond Range, around 1,500m above sea level, any higher than that up that way?
i hope you all have a blast, very jealous sitting here at work
A big thanks to Chris and Jean for organising a fantastic RTE. It was great to see so many people turn up and nice to catch up with some old friends and make a few new ones too!
Would anyone have any good photos of the morning with all the bikes covered in frost with the people about? could you email to streak@ozstoc.com :thumb
Hey Graham,
I'll email you the few I have. Mine and Paul's bikes were the only bikes that got a touch of frost bite from memory!
