You can keep the Queen bed.  A single will be dandy.

How many are going now?

At last count we had about 25 confirmed, and potential for about another 15 to 20 people, if we get 40 of us attending it will be a success, as it is our first effort and we are new at this  :thumb

For the Rally if people from Sydney just want to come out for the Saturday as well, we are just making sure we have the best possible time, our aim is to have such a great time that everyone will go away wanting for 2013's event to come around!

Kippers had to pull out due work, so it's Paul and I in a cabin for three if anyone is looking for a bed.  There is a Queen double (so I'm told), so if a couple suddenly turn up and able to cope with sharing with two startling bucks, then they can have the floor double bed   :p

Whatever, there's a bed going begging at the moment.

We might not be able to attend this year as much as we'd like to. Plans are on hold, not cancelled as it depends on my dad.

Looks like he's going to Perth ((to vist my sis) yeah!! I'm related to a sandgroper........lol) in May and he is deciding to go by car or train and he put forward the suggestion that we should go in ours. I'm hoping he goes by train 'cause it's only $380-440 return for him as opposed tp $1100 return for the car.

If we end up going we will be using a tent site and there is no need to book for them yet as e-mail reply below.

Dear Alan,

Thank you for your enquiry.  The rate for an unpowered site during the month of April is $37.00 per night.  Your group has an arranged discount of 10%.  We should have plenty of room for last minute camping, so there is no urgency to book a site at this time.

We look forward to assisting you further if you are able to attend.

Kind regards,

Benita Clark

Got two emails this morning abt the rally.
Both from people who spend their weekends going to rallies.
Seems they have put this national in the diary since it talks abt vendors, bbq's and socialising.
Both found it on facebook.
Neither are ST riders so makes one wonder how many other drop ins we may get.
Should the words be changed. Perhaps point out it is ST only.

Sure sounds like it needs to be reined in or it will lose the whole intention of being an ST Rally!

Or worse still, it could turn into an event we don't want our image associated with.

It may be possible to warn the managers of the site not to book in anyone not from the STOC fraternity.  That should keep out undesirables.

And no bad jokes about Sandgropers here- this is meant to be serious!   :-(((

Better suggestion would be to remove it from facebook and other similar pages.
Take it out of the viewing of the non ST people.
Since it's in a popular ride location down there could already be of cockroaches who have pencilled it in.
Silly question why do we need facebook and similar. Is there any advantage.
Any members joined after finding us there.

Face Book is used by many members including myself, We have gained many members and exposure through using it.

The National Rally has been promoted as a "Honda ST owners Rally", on face book, on our website, in Australian Road Rider Magazine, Motorcycle News Magazine, on radio.  if we get a couple of ring in's then so be it, Diesel and myself have been the main contact through all this, and our phones have not run hot with every biker in the world coming.

We pride ourselves on being a good group who enjoy themselves, and that is what we will be. if we have a couple of people who comes along because they like who we are, then they will be more than welcome. We have prided ourselves on being welcoming to anyone, and that is a flavour we don't want to lose. some of our most dedicated and most loyal members are those who don't own an ST or used to own an ST and have donated towards the building of our website, and been valuable contributors in our forums.

We have kept in contact with The accommodation houses down there, and we are doing our very best to make sure we have a great time.

Cheers

Graham

Well said Streak.

I also favor the use of Facebook to help get our group known as many clubs and businesses do these days, welcome to the 21st century.

I promise to be on my best behavior, and I hope that's good enough.  Looking forward to it.

Just a reminder, the cabin Pault and I have booked has a spare bed, so if anyone hasn't booked yet, PM me.  It can be the double bed if you want to bring a partner or you can bribe me for it.   :beer
