She was such a pretty little thing.....
« on: August 22, 2012, 10:40:23 PM »
So I drove the 40mins in to Brissie to take my son out for a beer and a steak, and had a lovely time of it - something I'd recommend everyone with grown up kids does every now and then.

The trouble started when I dropped him off and headed home.

Did I mention that she was a pretty little thing?

As I moved among the city traffic, maintaining my 2 second gap, and making clear my intentions with indicators and the like, I had the unfortunate displeasure of finding myself beside a pretty little thing in a Honda city car on a piece of road the went around a bend.

She was in the right hand lane as the bend meandered left. I think she thought the road was straight, as instantly her ENTIRE passenger side of the car came into my lane as she LAZILY negotiated the curve.

I had no where to go as there was another car to my left and cars behind. I tried to capture her attention by BLASTING the horn and FLASHING the high beam as I reduced my speed. Did I mention she was a pretty little thing?

I think this embarrassed her as she turned into Ghostrider, crossed 3 lanes in front of me and tore off with another series of insane overtaking manouvres.

Imagine my surprise when I rounded another series of bends and found her waiting at the next set of traffic lights.

As I pulled up next to her, she shot me a look of DEATH. I rolled down my window and said "You've got to keep all your wheels in YOUR lane hunny - that's all I'm asking."

At this point - this pretty little thing took on such a demonic appearance as she shouted such profanities at me which basically summed up her disgust at my very existence! The language and demeanour was APPALLING!  Then her face lit up - from the backlight of her phone - because she returned to her TEXTING!!!!!!!!           :cuss

I just managed to blurt out "Are you in the RACQ? Coz I think you're going to have an accident if you keep driving that way!"

Now I'm no lip reader - but I can almost guarantee the next sentence yelled at me from her contained at least three F-words. She again took off faster than me, and I watched her run a blatant red light at the next set so as to probably not be near the very mutant that had turned her life into an eternal abyss of pain and suffering - ME!

You should have seen the hatred in her eyes!

For a little time after that, I wondered how I could possibly have been the villain in all of this - but didn't have the answer. How different the situation would have been if I was a police officer in a patrol car - can you imagine? Best behaviour, best manners!

I KNEW that if I had seen her up the road in any sort of minor incident due to her erratic driving, I would have gladly stopped and offered the driver of the other vehicle my contact details as a witness to provide an account of what I had witnessed earlier on - but I never saw that pretty little thing again.

Hope the wind didn't change at the wrong moment for her.

It's not always the young BOYS out there being heroes folks.

On my trip from Goulburn back through Sydney last week, had a very similar experience with a green P plater in small Korean sedan. I couldn't catch her (she wasn't that pretty) as she zoomed off pointing skywards with middle finger after a blast of the horn. Then in North Sydney I had a mature lady swoop into my lane, again a blast of horn and hard braking but she gave me a wave and at the next set of lights called out 'sorry' before driving off. I was so glad to get out of the city and away from the crazys.

Notice a lot of this from the P(rick) platers myself. Always on the  :phone or drifting from one side of the lane to the other whilst texting. I have given up riding anywhere east of the Toowoomba Range now. Just too damn dangerous.

Diesel, I sympathise, last week I was almost removed from the face of the earth by a woman driving her 4-wheel drive urban tank having just picked up her rug-rats from school. Hurtling down the road with no regard for what was in front of her and even less regard for her speed, she was only interested in looking back over her shoulder at what the 'little darlings' were doing in the back seat. She missed me by about 1 layer of paint, then glared at me as if it was MY fault that she wasn't actually looking where she was going. I taught here a few new words that I really hope she hadn't heard before and a couple of gestures too which I hope she did understand, all the while trying desperately to kick the crap out of the side of her urban tank. :cuss :cuss :cuss

I am firmly convinced that the 40km/hr traffic zones around schools are not there because of the children, but are actually there as an attempt by the government to try to limit the almost inevitable carnage that women drivers in 4-wheel drives inflict on normal innocent motorists whilst they take their brats to and from school. At least at 40km/hr you might actually be able to walk away from the inevitable bingles. These people have no concept of who is on the road with them, in fact as far as they are concerned there is NO-ONE on the road with them, and no spatial awareness whatever. They are so lethal that if I can possibly avoid going out (either on the bike or in the car) at school drop-off times then I will happily stay at home. :well :well

God save us all from women drivers with children on the car!!  :butt
Cheers,
Paul

Believe it or not Diesel your statement could not be further from the truth is most circumstances.  They still want to blame us for being present at the wrong time and causing them to have a miserable life.

I had another Police Officer have a go at me for issuing a ticket to his daughter.  After telling him I knew where she must have gotten the attitude he demanded to hear the tape recording.  He turned a very bright red and left the office apologising for the language he had never heard before, at all not just from her, spewing out whilst she accused me of impossible acts of bastardery and other unpleasant animal fornication facts that my family had committed.

I think she gets her licence back just before Xmas - should only take a couple of days to loose it again.   :law

I scared the crap out of  young girl on the southern access in Cairns, I was on the Shadow 750 behind her and she was weaving all over the place so I pulled beside her and screamed for her to put the phone down (yes she was texting), she looked side ways and saw a fat bloke in a black leather jacket riding a black cruiser.. her jaw dropped and she threw the phone to the floor of the car and concentrated on driving until she could turn off to pull over and continue her texting. I dunno if she just drove of again but at least I had a good laugh at scaring her shitless..   :crackup :crackup :crackup
