Ah yes....I remember it well!! We've come a very long way, "in a very short period of time"
The folowing are the five "Great Ages" of human progress and their appoximate duration:
Stone Age.....3.4 million years
Bronze Age.....2,500 years
Iron Age......500 years
Industrial Revolution......80 years
Information Revolution......20 years
Where the hell's it all going to end??????
You can't surprise me any more with what technology can do!
I'm just thankful for living in the era when all these wonderful things emerged and are being refined. I was a kid when black and white TV arrived in Newcastle, accessible only by very tall antennae masts on house roofs. If you wanted to ring up, most of us went to the red phonebox and pushed our four pennies in and dialled the number.
We've come a very long way.
