Me and my mate Russell (Seat)
« on: July 14, 2014, 04:07:52 PM »
It was a normal day, a day unlike any other, birds chirped in the tree branches, the sounds of children in the near by playground rang around the surrounding houses.

But this day was not like any other...as this day 30 of April 2014 was the day a hapless mailman started an epic journey. For little did he know, that he would soon deliver to the mail depot, a seat... Some say the Devil himself built this seat over the course of 20 lifetimes, it has been described as the one thing to turn back time. By turning Men into Babies.

A nervous wait was had for the next few weeks, as a confirmation email arrived stating the "Devil Seat" had made the Perilous journey across the oceans.

June 12! the email exclaimed, this shall be the day the exorcism shall commence...

Two nervous weeks later, like a proud father f a newborn, I receive yet another email.

I thanks the heavens above that the Devil Seat was finally subdued and waited for it prompt return.

Upon unwrapping the box. I noticed this seat, this "Devil seat" has undergone a transformation, a metamorphosis of epicness and has come out the other side not as the Devils Seat but as the stunningly beautiful object touched be an angel all day long... a Russell Day long .

Too long; Didn't read: I got a new seat today, pretty happy with it

Yeah they are a little more expensive than most seats.....and as good as some of the aftermarket seats are they are manufacture to a spec, Russell is made to suit your rump and the rump of your pillion.......taking into account your height, weight, sitting position, bar location and the side you dress on......ok maybe not the last one....single best mod we have done to the bike.....by far.

Seriously unless the coffee shop we are passing has an exceptional reputation when we out travelling on a solo mission we start with a full tank of fuel and stop when we need fuel......the seat is that good  :thumbsup

That's a good wrap. Thanks Chris.  What's the freight cost to and from the states? Marcus. Feel free to give your experience.
Do you have to send photo's of how you sit on the bike etc?

To ship to the States was $135
This is what they charged my credit card for the seat plus postage I'm guessing.

The shipping form says $95.04 for them to send it back

Do you have to send photo's of how you sit on the bike etc?

About this may

Plus Height, weight, inseam

Thanks Marcus. Certainly not cheap, but by all reports, probably the best of the aftermarket offerings. Look forward to your ride report. (in November when it's warmer.  :grin)

With all those photos of sitting possitions , do you think they just make the same seats over and over again ?
Will be interesting to line up the two side by side  :like

Agreed, we'll do that at the next rally

Hmmm. Obvious variation in butt sizes there.
No comment on which or what, though!!     :whistle     :-(((

Nice one Marcus  ++

I can see a total of 8 differences between the pair of seats, and thats without the benifit of the lie detector (tape measure)  :eek  :eek

The difference between the front of the pillions seats is quite dramatic......

Overall, riders seat only done

Across the seat at the "wings" stitching to stitching.

Rise at the rear of seat.

Front to rear

Bike is apart doing maintenance and farkles, so no photo's on bike, but you get the drift.

You've gone straight to the top shelf with those seats Marcus!  :thumb

Looking forward to your ride report and I hope you can confirm that all those rave reviews from US owners regarding the legendary comfort of the RDL seat is true!

Marcus, did you find it altered the difference in height from the ground when stationary, and if so, which way...up or down??
There are many paths to the top of the mountain.....but we all need to find our own way!
