It's interesting to see that sales of the FJR1300 have jumped as well.
People too late to get a new ST13 buying second best.
Second best? Mmmmm, I'm not sure about that.
I remember reading an Austrialn Road Rider (around June or July 2013 edition) on a flight back from Sydney in July last year. It read something along the lines of
despite the new FJR being head and shoulders above it's competition, it will struggle with its new price, especially as Honda had just discounted the ST13 by $9K. I couldn't wait for the plane to land so as I could ring around a few dealers.
I preferred and would've bought the 2013 Yamaha FJR1300 with its standard higher specs (adjustable handle bars, heated grips, cruise control and traction control), but at $26.5K (plus on road costs) it was more than $10K dearer than what I paid for the new ST1300.
In the end the ST13 was the obvious choice, and I'm VERY happy.
