Top Box Repair and Repaint (Not by me!)
« on: October 08, 2014, 07:36:00 PM »
As many of you know when i bought my ST1300, it had a brand new perfect condition Honda Top Box on it, that within 5 hours of owning it i lost it off the bike when i didnt lock it down properly, and well it was a bit worse for wear (Story here: http://ozstoc.com/index.php?topic=6670.0)

well it is has been annoying the heck out of me, as every time I walked past it all i saw was the scratches!

Well i took it to a Local Spray Painter here in Toowoomba called Doodes Designs (https://www.facebook.com/DoodsDesignCustomPaint), She will paint anything from bikes to cars to helmets so on and soforth!

and vaula!

i have a brand new top box again, all painted up and repaired, for the princely sum of $80, so i am pretty happy with myself  :thumb

she just took a pannier of my bike matched the paint, and i am really happy with the result

Looks great Streak, and the white top matches very nicely with the rest of the bike.   I recall that Abe's white bike has a similar paint job on his top box.

Great result.  It's almost good that it fell off because the black/white design looks so much better than the original.  Only 80 bux!  I paid $67 for the three spray packs to do my dropped pannier and have an amateurish finish.
For the modern man who lives in the city, riding a bike might be one of the only ways to escape the humdrum monotony. To take off and ride. To be both at one with nature and one with the bike. To feel masculine. Adam Piggott

Copy cat  :wink1

With StinkyPete's suggestion of painting the lid only, it was done.

But, cost twice as much as yours  |-i

All it needs now is a "Streak" of Silver.  :grin

Yep, I liked what you did with your top box, I think the colour breakup really works with the white, so it does not dominate to much  :thumb
