I know what you mean Glen.  I was using the word "classic" more in the literary sense not the classification kind.  Sorry about the confusion mate.  Lets just throw the category open!  Can't wait to see some more eye candy.

This is my 1982 CX500TC which I had 1990's



and it's hard to believe that todays GL1800 Goldwing evolved from this

this is what i learnt to ride on, dad bought it for me in about 1985 to help him with mustering sheep on our property, he would send me out at about 5.30am to the lane way we mustered the stock into the night before and push them along to the sheep yards. it was the Honda Z50

Vincent Black Shadow

I used to live about 1km away from where the Vincent factory used to be.  There's nothing left of it, it's now a small, fairly modern industrial estate called Vincent Court.

I'm not much of a classic bike fan, but I did see a couple of really nice CB750's for sale when I was bike hunting.  But I reckon my vote goes to the BMW R90/S.... (it's probably the colours that do it!)

I've always liked the older british bikes, especially the cafe racers.  The Black Shadow appeals to me mainly because of that unique looking Vincent V-twin engine.  It's a work of art!  Yep...got a big soft spot for the old Honda fours as well Des.

Those old Brough and Vincent engines, while definitely a work of art, look frighteningly complex.
Although I guess if you laid ours bare they look a bit formidable.  Maybe things are more internalised these days.

Contemporary & edgy styling, vast acceleration, huge top speed & superb electrickery package make it a classic.
And one day it'll be a collector's item too

I love it, but others have stated the same description, I have it set up to suit me so its OK, the only thing is that the fuel tank is desgned for the seat, at 180kms you hit reserve ( its a 10l main) AND you NEED to get off the seat

Heard a real funny story about that Jay Leno bloke that has all those cars and bikes. So he's out on his Y2k jet turbine thing and this prick in a sports car like near runs him off the road. So catches him at the lights and pulls the bike in front of the prick, gives the bike a few revs and melts the front of the pricks car

Well I still have my 78 GS1000 Suzuki if that counts as a classic.  Otherwise a Panther Sloper with Sidecar.  Dad had it solo for a while but put a sidecar on when he got married.

One of many regerets is that I used to have the 'helmet' that dad used. It was a leather cap with straps to do up under the chin. It was lined with rabbit fur.  More to keep warm I think!
